You can thank Ye Old Trademark branding for that confusion of series makers. Story of Seasons is by the creators/makers of most of the older games seen as Harvest Moon games. Though personally I'm quite excited for people jumping on this trend if it gives me more options, been a fan of the genre since HM: Friends of Mineral Town (by the people who now make story of seasons) back in the gameboy advance era and the choices were few for a long time.Ī Harvest Moon game came our recently but lacked most if not all the charms of older ones, Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons has been making these games ona regular basis for a very long time, so I don't think they're trying to cash in on the success of SW.Īs for Rune Factory coming out of hibernation, who knows. Out of the 20 or 30 in production or finished recently I think I'd only consider buying this oneīig publishers seem to be making cookie cutter games these days, try to make the game appeal to absolutely everyone and alienate almost everyone in the process Trying to profit from the hype and current atmosphere
